Kylie Watson - Printmaking
Philosophy
Broadhurst Bird
I have been investigating the idea of landscape as subject matter over the past decade primarily within the medium of printmaking. I view the landscape as a narrative space where I attempt to create a poetic and romantic motif. This landscape can be a specific place or a symbolic space and the idea of memory from within this experience of landscape also plays a part often acting as a signal or connection towards the creation of a new panorama. More recently I have been isolating elements such as birds from within the landscape and have been exploring how birds migrate and flock and move through this space.
